BETHEL TEMPLE ASSEMBLY OF GOD

Bethel Temple Assembly of God is located in Hixson, Tennessee, approximately 10 miles north of Chattanooga.  Mountains surround the greater Chattanooga area, creating a very picturesque setting, which we affectionately refer to as "God's Country."  The cooking is country, the people are friendly, and the climate is ideal.

Bethel Temple was founded in 1978 by a local minister.  The initial sanctuary had already been built by another denomination as a mission church, but when that plant failed to meet expectations and projections, it was closed and became available to the Assemblies of God. The vision of this local minister, along with the Tennessee District Council of the Assemblies of God, made this fellowship a reality, now some 30 years ago.

There have been eight pastors who have served this fellowship since January, 1978.  Pastor Terry Evans, our current Senior Pastor, was voted in on April 22, 2007.  Pastor Terry has been a member of this fellowship since December, 1990 and during that time has served in various positions throughout the church.  In November, 1995 Pastor Terry came on staff as our Associate Pastor and has served as Worship Pastor, Youth Pastor, Children's Pastor and Business Administrator at different times over the years.  In his new role, Pastor Terry has shared his vision to reach our community for Christ through meaningful relationships with the lost, hurting and hungry.  We are excited about what God is about to do in our great fellowship and would love to have you involved in our future.

We hope this website is a blessing to you.  Should you have questions that are not answered herein, please call or e-mail us.  We are here to serve you.  If you live in the greater Chattanooga area, and are praying about a church home, please know that you are welcome at Bethel.  Also know that we will pray with you about that important decision.  If you are not from this area, but plan on visiting in the near future, please know that you are likewise welcome.  Chattanooga is known as "the most scenic city in America," and it's a great place to take a family vacation.  (Click the link below for more information on Chattanooga.)
